SUBJECT: ONTARIO SOCCER SUSPENDS INDEFINITELY ALL SANCTIONED SOCCER
ACTIVITIES IN THE PROVINCE DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer, have been monitoring the most recent developments with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the emerging public health crisis.
Following discussions with the national governing body, input from relevant government agencies and medical experts, Ontario Soccer has made the difficult decision TO IMMEDIATELY SUSPEND ALL SANCTIONED SOCCER ACTIVITIES IN THE PROVINCE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Ontario Soccer sanctioned activities include, but not limited to, all competitions, training, coach and match official education and team building activities.
To ensure the health and safety of our players, coaches, match officials and administrators, Ontario Soccer recommends that all Districts, Clubs and Academies communicate to their members that they will cease operations indefinitely.
The offices of Ontario Soccer will be closed to the public during this period but staff will be available through email or phone to assist where necessary. The Ontario Soccer Centre will be closed to the public until further notice.
Ontario Soccer will continue following the guidelines set forth by the public health authorities, government agencies and soccer governing bodies.
